The Bourne Supremacy builds upon nearly everything I mentioned in my review of the previous film in the series, The Bourne Identity. I kind of feel as though I can sum up my feelings on this film by basically referring to my previous review and noting that things have been kicked up a notch here (including a car-chase that amazingly manages to upstage the one in the first move).
Just like The Bourne Identity, this new instalment is a story-driven action movie that relies more on realism to pack a hefty punch rather than explosions and other special effects. This time around there's a new director though, by the name of Paul Greengrass (whose last film was the flawed but original Bloody Sunday). Greengrass and his cinematographer shoot much of Supremacy with handheld cameras, which gives the film a rawness that suits (and largely contributes to) its realistic style.
If you liked The Bourne Identity, I can safely say you'll enjoy Supremacy at least as much. It is, in every way, an improvement upon what was already a very good action movie.
That's a smart answer to a dfificult question.
