Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

4.5 / 5

Regarding the previous two Indiana Jones flicks, I held that the movies are not so much about Indiana himself, but about the cool places his adventures get him into. In The Last Crusade, there's certainly no shortage of cool places, but what's unusual is how much of a character Indy actually becomes.

It's important to note, however, that the catalyst for this change, compared to the first two films, is the introduction of another character: Professor Henry Jones, Indy's father, played by Sean Connery. The two doctor Jones' have such great chemistry between them that they can't help but become likeable and unique characters. The introduction of Indiana's father also adds a lot in the way of comedy, and The Last Crusade turns out to be the funniest film in the trilogy by far.

There's not much more to say, really, that I haven't already mentioned in reviews of Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Temple of Doom. Aside from the awesomeness that Sean Connery brings to the film, there's not a whole lot different about The Last Crusade. But still, everything that made the first two films entertaining is here again in spades, and done even more entertainingly. This is definitely one of the greatest adventure movies of all time.
