It's always cool to see a movie about a particular time or event in history that you don't often see... especially if it's a good movie! The Last of the Mohicans takes place at the end of the 18th century, when England and France were at war with each other over control of the North American continent. Not only were the English and French fighting against each other, but they had allied with the Mohawk Indians and the Huron Indians, respectively. The role that the two Indian tribes play in the conflict is the focus of the story, and it's pretty interesting stuff.
There's some great battle-photography in the film as well, including a really cool cannon/mortar seige against an English castle, and an amazingly intense ambush on an English convey by a group of Huron Indians -- this was one of the most incredible scenes I've seen in a long time.
Dude, right on there bortehr.
