Monsters Inc. is very good on a whole number of levels. The voice acting is good, the animation is amazing, it's got some great humour, and the story is very clever. Tied into that last point, though, is the movie's best element: it's so completely original. Sure, after seeing previews and such you can get an overall idea of what the movie's about; but with such incredibly original characters, settings, and situations, almost every scene had a surprise or two.
I think this movies deserves higher. This movie felt incredible. I liked the different scenes choices with the DVD version. Very intelligent editing, nice directing with the different scenes very interesting how they flow...the voices felt right for the different people in the movie. Nice choice to review.
Deserves higher? 4-stars is pretty darn high, man :-)
In order to get 5 stars, a movie has to be pretty freakin' brilliant. 'Finding Nemo' came pretty close (4.5 stars), and I think Finding Nemo was a little better than Monsters Inc., so 4 stars seemed to me to be the most appropriate rating :-)
Phenomenal bearkdown of the topic, you should write for me too!
