Reign of Fire is one of those movies that's not necessarily bad (there's definitely some good stuff in it), but you come away afterwards thinking how cool it could have been had it done a few things differently. Yeah, I know it's not really a good idea to judge a movie based on any one person's vague ideas of what it 'could have been', but still... it would've been really cool to see an all-out fire-fight between the ancient dragons and the modern military technology (tanks, jets, etc.). But no... nearly all of the heavy-duty mechanical fire-power is obliterated by a single dragon shortly after we're introduced to the interesting possability that this fire-power might get to be used against the dragons.
On its own merits, though, the movie's not too bad. The thing is, though, is that the only really inventive thing the movie has to offer is the dragons themselves... the rest of the movie (including the actual fighting between the humans and the dragons) isn't particularly exciting.
Knocked my socks off with knolwdgee!
