Stuck on You

The Farrelly Brothers's Stuck on You just doesn't seem to warrant much being written on it. Aside from the obviously unusual conceit of having its two main characters (played by Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear) be conjoined twins, there's really nothing at all that's noteworthy in the film.

The basic plot is that Walt (Kinnear) wants to move to Hollywood, where he feels he'll have a better chance at making it as an actor. Meanwhile, Cher (Cher) is angrily debating with some producers a contractually-obligated television project that she doesn't want to do, even though her contract states that she'll have full creative control. When Walt and his conjoined brother Bob finally move to Hollywood and stumble into a production studio, Cher sees them and decides to use her creative control to cast Walt as the leading man -- hoping that the producers will see the absurdity of the situation and abandon the project.

A side story involves Bob's love interest: a completely boring Asian character named May, whom he's only spoken to by telephone and internet (she happens to live in L.A.).

It seemed to me that the Farrelly's thought the bizarre conjoined-twin setup would be full of enough humour and quirkiness to carry a whole movie, and so they didn't try very hard on actual comedy or plot. Stuck on You was not at all a terrible comedy, but it was pretty uninspired, and not really worth watching.
