It's a shame that movies like Timeline get made. With the money they spent on this piece of poo they probably could've financed at least half-a-dozen other movies that had things like good writing and good acting. I suppose it was believed that being adapted from a Michael Crichton novel would be enough of a draw to bring in a good-sized audience.

The trouble is, much like Crichton's other recent works, the source novel for this film is rather bland and uninspired. Aside from Crichton's very interesting theory of how time travel might actually be plausible without those nasty space-time continuum anomalies that are often plot devices in time travel stories, the book is mostly a long and boring series of chases in a medieval setting. Unfortunately, the film version of Timeline doesn't even bother discussing this science, so what's left is an unoriginal time travel chase film.

Watch one of the Back to the Future films. You'll have a much better time.

Definitely agree with you on this one Geoff. This movie was painful to watch... it got tunred from a book about an interesting twist on time travel to a film about rather cliche greedy businessmen and silly fight scenes...

Agreed...not worth the $3 rental charge...I don't know why you even gave it 1.5 stars...I can't think of a single thing that made the movie worthwhile...well, ok, near the end there was fire, but that's it!
