Wallace & Gromit in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit

Wallace and Gromit's first feature-length film does pretty-much everything right and should appeal to almost any audience, young or old.

For anyone unfamiliar with the plasticine pair, Wallace and Gromit have existed for quite a while now in a series of short films that generally involve bizarre adventures and creative Rube Goldberg-type contraptions and inventions. in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, the two have put some new inventions to use in a humane pest-control operation. Business is booming because the annual 'giant vegetable festival' is approaching, and the village's rabbits are on a rampage. In an attempt to permanently end the rabbits' veggie-stealing ways using a new mind-control invention, Wallace inadvertently creates the ultimate vegetable terror: the were-rabbit.

The movie is funny and clever, even if it's not particularly bold or challenging, and it's only moderately energetic. But that doesn't really matter, because Wallace and Gromit themselves are so amusing and likeable that they would be worth watching in almost anything. Additionally, the excessive "British-ness" of Wallace and many of the other characters in this film is, itself, a running joke that doesn't really get tired.

This is a very 'safe' movie, but it's funny and well-made.
